So me and my bff Rosalia are absolute Code Geass nuts.
For those who do not know of it, it is an anime that came out in 2006 in Japan and 2007 in the US. It is about a 17-year-old boy named Lelouch, who is a prince of the Holy Empire of Brittania, the largest world power. He holds a severe hatred for Brittania because him and his crippled sister had been sent to Japan as hostages, now conquered and re-named 'Area 11'. He obtains a power called Geass from a mysterious girl named C.C., which allows him to give unquestionable commands to anyone he comes in contact with. With this power, he begins a rebellion against Brittania.

SPOILER ALERT!
I really hate to spoil the ending, but it's kind of necessary. Lelouch has achieved his goal and conquered Brittania, becoming its Emperor. He clashes with his older brother, a formidable opponent, and the only man Lelouch was never able to beat. Through trickery and tactics, he defeats his brother, and claims the world as his empire. Through this action he has directed the entire world's hatred at himself. He and his best friend, Suzaku, plan out the 'Zero Requiem', a plot to bring about world peace through the Lelouch's death, and the fulfillment of Geass as a wish. In the last episode, Suzaku disguises himself as Lelouch's former alias, Zero, and intercepts his convoy. He reaches Lelouch, and just as planned, kills him. With Lelouch's death comes peace, just as he had predicted. (Though to ruin it a little more, he's rumored not to be dead! Yay!)
So now without further ado,
Code Geass: A New Beginning.
Lelouch. Lelouch, can you hear me??
“C.C.??”
Lelouch listen to me. You are immortal, and now because of the severity of the wound Suzaku gave you, your Geass needed time to recharge. You moved back into the past in a different world, because this is your first time surviving a fatal attack as an immortal. I can’t speak much longer, but I have to warn you that the Geass users-
“-Wait C.C.!! Where is Nunnally? Where am I?!?”
She’s fine, but the people who’ve used Geass-
Her voice cut off in Lelouch’s mind, leaving him to wonder what she was going to say. He tried to push Nunnally away from his mind.
He opened his eyes and sat up.
He was still dressed in his emperor’s clothes, a large blood stain smudging the center. Strangely he had no wound, but he covered himself anyway. He was on a lonely beach and behind him was a large city. The cool autumn wind calmed him, and he continued to look around.
This must be the world before Knightmare frames, but still recent.
He saw a figure in black that made him stop. It was Suzaku in the Zero attire. He ran to him and began shaking him, noting that the sword he used was still in his hand.
“Suzaku! Suzaku, wake up!”
He groaned, and he took off the helmet. He rubbed his eyes and head.
“Lelouch?”
“Yes it’s me. Are you okay? Why are you here?”
“What? Where is ‘here’? Why are you still alive?”
“I don’t know where we are, but C.C. told me that I’m here because I’m an immortal Geass user. Apparently the hole you poked in me sent me here.”
“But I’m not a Geass user, Lelouch. You still haven’t told me where here is.”
Lelouch smiled at him apologetically. “I don’t know where here is either. C.C. didn’t have enough time to tell me. She told me my Geass needs to recharge, so I’m assuming that as soon as it does, I’ll go back.”
“Yes, but why am I here? How did I get here?”
“I don’t know how we got here! Look, right now it would be better if we just try to find somewhere to settle down for a bit as we find out more about this world. Getting rid of these clothes would be a good idea too.”
Suzaku frowned but followed him towards the city. Many people walked through it on their way to other places and gawked at their strange clothes. A police officer stopped them and asked them what private school they belonged to. They both looked at each other, clueless as what to say.
“We were looking around the area to see which one pleases us; we just moved here from Japan. We’re looking for one preferably further from this city,” Lelouch said awkwardly.
“From Japan, huh? That’s pretty far, but you don’t look Japanese. Yes, I can contact someone to sign you up for a school, it’s the beginning of the term anyway, so you boys should fit right in.”
The policeman dialed someone on his phone and had a short conversation. There were many nods and descriptions. Lelouch and Suzaku exchanged several nervous glances. Finally, he hung up and told them that he would be taking them to their new school.
“Yes, it’s called Lake Zurich Private Academy, about half an hour from here. Is that okay with you?” They nodded in response. Not that they knew about any other schools in this world anyway.
The ride to the school was silent and they nodded off to sleep from exhaustion. They woke up as the car pulled to a stop in front of an unremarkable building. Only a large, metallic structure in the back drew any interest to this school.
“All right boys, if you head through those doors, I’m sure you’ll find someone that can help. And please find a change of clothes. No one around here wears anything like that.”
The rolled their eyes and walked in. The school was bleak and oppressive. They were approached by a middle-aged woman with a clipboard and glasses.
“Hi, are you…” she checked her clipped board, “Lelouch Lamperouge and Suzaku Kururugi?” They nodded unenthusiastically. “Please follow me this way so that we can measure you for your uniforms.”
Lelouch whispered silently to Suzaku “I wish we’d gone to a world without those. I hope it’s not an ugly uniform at least.” Suzaku froze suddenly and Lelouch bumped into him from behind. He stared intently as someone turned a corner further down the hall. He had goose bumps all over his skin.
“Suzaku, are you ok? You look like you saw a ghost.”
“No, but nearly. I don’t know what I saw. I guess it was nothing.” He frowned.
“All right boys, you can undress in there. When you come out, I’ll have your class schedules ready. Are there any specific electives you would like?”
They shook their heads and walked into the room. There were two girls in the center of the room, working on sewing machines, surrounded by a maze of bolts of fabric and pin cushions precariously set on chairs and tables. They looked up and smiled when they walked in.
“Hi, are you guys here for uniforms too?” A tall blonde girl with light, yet deep blue eyes greeted them.
“Yes. Excuse me, where do we change?”
“Oh, here is fine, we’ll measure you quick anyway. I’m G1(We don't quite have names for the girls yet...) by the way.”
“Lelouch Lamperouge, nice to meet you.”
“I’m Suzaku Kururugi, nice to meet you too.”
“I’m G2. Nice sword by the way, where’d you buy it? I’m sort of an aspiring collector.” The shorter girl with the dark hair asked.
“Oh, this? I uh, I made it myself.” Suzaku lied. They all stared at each other awkwardly for a second. Lelouch finally spoke up.
“So where do we change?”
“Oh, just take off your shirts and shoes here. You can keep everything else on.”
The two foreigners looked at each other, thoroughly weirded out, and shed their shirts. One of the girls screamed, making them jump.
“Oh my god, what happened to you!?! You have a huge bloodstain on you!”
Lelouch had forgotten about it and tried to cover it up again. He wrapped his arms around himself protectively, shielding the closed wound from view. But it was too late, they had already seen it. He tried to think of something to say, or something to do. His last resort: Geass. He pulled out his contacts, activating it.
“You will stop screaming and mention what you saw to no one.” He barked, focusing on the two girls. They looked at him, puzzled.
“What do mean? Just look, we have to take you to the hospital!”
So, my Geass is still too weak. Seems like I won’t be able to use it for a while.
“What I meant to say was that, we were just playing around, Suzaku and I-”
“Oh, so you’re that kind of . . . . persuasion-” One of the girls mumbled, blushing. They both giggled.
“No! That’s not it at all. You see,” Suzaku interrupted, “We’re from Japan and we were Kabuki actors. Yeah, and we just wanted to show off our outfits. Yeah.”
Lelouch gave him a look that said Really? Suzaku shrugged. Of course, the girls didn’t believe it either.
“Yeah, ok. Um, alright then. Don’t move.” They started measuring them and pinning fabric to them. It was silent for most of the time except for the occasional grunts from Lelouch when he was stabbed by one of the needles. Suzaku smiled innocently looking around the room.
“Ok, I think we’re just about done. If you guys come around later, we should have your uniforms ready. Here, you can where these meanwhile.” They put on the green and purple shirts that G1 and G2 offered them.
“Ok, we have your class schedules ready, if you’d please follow me, I’ll give you a tour of the school, grounds and dormitories and show you where your classes are. Also, I assumed that’d you’d want to share a room, so I took the liberty of putting you two together. Follow me.”
The main part of the building was small, and centered around the cafeteria, and it was musty from age. Students in the classrooms wore the same bored expressions in each door that they passed. A few security guards stood around chatting. Eventually the lady led them out of the school through a long hallway of windows and into a terrace. There were three buildings; the lady led them to the one on the left, which was supported by a set of white columns and balconies.
“Alright gentlemen, upstairs and to the right you’ll find your room. Here’s the key and the number,” she handed them an envelope, “and dinner is in two hours. Classes are just about over, so you may explore the grounds until then.”
“Wait, where can we get more clothes? All we have is what we came in, these shirts, and the uniforms being made for us,” Lelouch complained.
“On the weekends we allow students to meander about the town. You may buy some then. Of course, you’ll need to pay for them yourselves. Welcome and enjoy your education.”
She walked off, and they headed up the stairs to find their room. The room had a set of L-shaped bunk beds with empty drawers. Two desks, a bathroom and a closet was all that decorated the room. A set of double doors opened to one of the balconies they’d seen from outside. It connected with another room, Suzaku observed. All the balconies connected two rooms together. A table with two chairs was set on the balcony. They collapsed on the chairs and stared out. Suzaku picked up the class schedules with a cocked eyebrow.
“Alright, so first I have French. I don’t speak French.” He frowned “Next I have Math, then Biology, World History, and Band. I don’t play any instruments.” He frowned more. Lelouch shrugged.
“Gym! Awesome, I have gym after that,” his face lit up, “and after that Lunch, Sewing and finally . . . English? Lelouch, do you think we’re in Britannia?” We have English class, and everyone else here speaks English.”
Lelouch pondered for a moment. “No I don’t believe this is Britannia. There are no Britannian flags anywhere in the school, nor did we see any in the city. This could possibly be . . . The United States. This is a time before Knightmare frames, after all.”
“You mean the country where Knightmare frames were created?”
“Yes. I remember that at school it was described as a country solely concentrated on advancing their weapons. They lost track of political affairs and entered a civil war. Britannia then resulted from it and the Knightmare frames fell to their control.”
“Look, everyone is coming out of the school. How many people do you think attend here?”
Lelouch looked around the separate dorms. “I’d say about some 700 students, making this a very small school.”
Suzaku smiled. For once he could go to school peacefully, no military duties to interrupt him. And then he thought about the military again. This was his new country and he would fight for it to the death, even though he hadn’t been here long. He would enlist himself in the army as soon as possible. Meanwhile, he could concentrate on school as never before. And as he always dreamed, make friends. He’d had very few of them his age, and at some point or other they had pretty much tried to kill each other. Literally.
“I’m going to see what our classmates are like. I think we should familiarize ourselves with everyone here to better gauge our view of this country.” Lelouch stood up to follow him.
