In the beginning, Arceus created the world. She created Time and Space. Dialga and Palkia. She created Willpower, Knowledge, and Emotion. Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit. She created the crescent moon and new moon. Cresselia and Darkrai. She created sea drifter and seafarer. Phione and Manaphy. She created lava and colossal. Heatran and Regigigas. She created gratitude. Shaymin.

She created the rock peak, iceberg, and iron. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. She created the red eon and blue eon. Latias and Latios. She created the hydrosphere, lithosphere, and atmosphere. Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza. She created wishing and DNA. Jirachi and Deoxys.

She created thunder, volcano, and aurora. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. She created diving and rainbow. Lugia and Ho-oh. She created time travel; Celebi.

She created winter, spring, and summer. Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. She created joy. Mew.

Knowing that her creations needed a place to live, she created Shinnoh, Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto. Then she created lesser species to occupy these places and so that the legendaries could watch over them.

Then, Arceus created the first of the humans. She explained her plan for the new world to the human, and asked him to take care of her creations. The human agreed.

The first of the humans taught the others how to care for the beasts that occupied the lands. He came to refer to them as 'Pokemon'. Happy with the human, Arceus rested.

After 20,000 years of peace, Arceus was awakened by Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. They told her that the world had gone to chaos. Arceus told Dialga to freeze time as she examined what had happened to her world. The humans had taken advantage of the Pokemon that Arceus created.

Angry, Arceus confronted her legendary creations. "My children." she said. "These humans have misused my trust. I will remove them from my world at once." she told them. But, young mew objected.

"Mother Arceus, not all humans are untruthful. Some can be trusted, and are trying to do something about it!" she claimed.

Arceus thought, and then told them; "I will sleep for 10,000 years. Then you will awaken me. That will give the humans time to change."

Her creations agreed, and so Arceus went to sleep for 10,000 years. The number of kind humans rose, but there were some who wanted the power legendary beats for themselves. The legendaries went into hiding, still keeping balance, but from secret locations.

10,000 years passed, and Arceus, again, awakened. She noticed that the humans had changed, but had forced her powerful children into hiding. Arceus decided that her legendary children needed to be protected. She called her children to her, and told them her plans.

"My children, these humans have changed, yet they've forced you into hiding. You cannot help those you are meant to help if you are in hiding; therefore I have a plan to solve this. “She told them.”I know that there are humans out there who are kind. I want each of you to go out and find a human, and to whom you will give a marking. You will mark that human as an equal, and they will do everything in their power to protect you, and you will protect them. "

These words sparked protest from the legendaries. "Us mark a human as an equal!" they said.

Arceus roared, and her children fell silent. "You must, for if you don't mark a human as equal, and you stay where you are currently hidden, you will be sitting ducks for the evil humans who will come after you and your powers. The human you mark will protect you, and if the human happens to die, you'll go find another human to mark as an equal." she told them.

They were about to protest again when Shaymin and her friend, Mew, interrupted them. "What mother says is true! We are small enough to travel into the lands of the humans, and there are evil humans who wish to capture us for our power!" they said. The children of Arceus gasped.

"Fine, we will find a human to mark as an equal!” Arceus's children cried out. Arceus smiled at her children.

"Thank you, my creations. I will awake in 100 years. “And with that, their mother disappeared.

And so, the legendary creations of Arceus departed to find a human-being worth marking as an equal.


Author's Notes

This is the first of about 20 chapters. I have six chapters done right now, and I'll post the next chapter when I can. I hope you enjoy!

I based this story off of a roleplay on another site, so I tried to make it as good as I could. I hope you guys enjoy it!

|:. Chapter One .

Shaymin darted forward, narrowly avoiding a United Shadow minion. Panting, she darted into a nearby building. Shaymin then transformed into a Turtwig, the grass starter of the region she was currently in. The legendary could have never guessed that United Shadows would be able to chase her all the way to Hearthome City.

She peeked out from behind a potted plant that she was hiding behind. "Oooh! A cute little Turtwig!" someone called. Shaymin twisted around to see an old lady coming after her. Shaymin barked and darted out of the building and into the street. She ran as fast as she could across the street and into an alleyway on the other side. Shaymin then transformed into a Cherubi, as to not attract attention.

Shaymin peeked out from the alleyway. It was night-time in Shinnoh, and the air had turned cold. Shaymin cursed the fact that Shinnoh had the coldest climate of all the regions so far. She darted out of the alleyway and then turned to bolt down the street. Shaymin hid behind a trash can and peeked out. United Shadows were swarming the streets, and they were all searching for her.

The grass-type legendary looked around and saw a Gracida plant on a windowsill across the street. She darted into the street, knowing that the United Shadows would only see a bold Cherubi crossing the street. She leaped for the plant and dragged it into a nearby alley. Shaymin returned to her original form and took a big whiff of the plant. She then transformed into Sky form and took off into the sky.

Shaymin landed in New Bark Town, Johto. From here, she would travel to Ecruteak to find the legendary dog trio. She looked around and spotted a teenage girl with long blonde hair walking with an old Espeon. Shaymin darted into a nearby tree to spy on the girl. She couldn't see the girl's face, but Shaymin knew that the girl was wearing a pink jacket with black stripes and light blue jeans which were worn in the knees.

"C'mon, Cinnamon! Hurry up and potty, Momma said that she's making all of us a special dinner that I know you don't want to miss out on!" the girl told the Espeon. "Es?" the pokemon chirped before launching herself into the bushes. Several moments later, the Espeon emerged and the girl picked her up and started walking in the direction she had come from. "Good girl, Cinnie!"

The Shaymin had an alarming curiosity towards the girl. She darted out of the tree and transformed into a Rattata. The Rattata (Shaymin) darted forward and stopped at the girl's heels. "Ratta! Ta, rattata!" she chirped. The girl looked down and bent over, placing Cinnamon on the ground before kneeling on the ground beside the disguised Shaymin. "Hiya, cutie-pie!" she said, rubbing under the rattata's chin. "Ta!" Shaymin cried and leaped onto the girl's shoulder.

The girl stood up after picking Cinnamon back up. "Okay, you can spend the night at my house!" she said, starting off again. Shaymin sighed, this would be the first warm place to sleep for months. After resting at the girl's house, she'd leave for Ecruteak.

Rattata (Shaymin) collapsed on the girl's family's couch. The food she had been fed by the girl's parents had filled her up nicely. The girl walked into the living room after her and sat down on the couch beside the legendary in disguise. The girl's parents walked into the room and sat down on the two armchairs on either side of the couch facing the television.

Shaymin climbed onto the girl's lap and curled up, yawning. The girl giggled and her mother smiled. "Kathern, it looks like the little thing is warming up to you." she said, reaching over to ruffle her daughter's hair.

"It does, doesn't it?" Kathern replied, hugging the Rattata-looking pokemon. Shaymin chirped happily and curled closer to the girl, sleepiness tugging at her eyes. Before the pokemon could be comforted by sleep, a loud banging noise jolted her fully awake.

"What the heck is going on!" Kathern's father shouted, running for the front door.

"Christopher, wait for me!" Kathern's mother replied, rushing to get up and walking as fast as she could after her husband. The Espeon from earlier leapt onto the couch and curled against Kathern's leg, mewing. Kathern pulled Cinnamon and the disguised Shaymin closer to her.
Kathern's parents walked back into the living room a little bit later.

"I can't believe the nerve of those darn United Shadows, Katie." Chris complained. "Thinking we had a legendary in our house! The nerve of 'em."

"Kathy, sweetheart, go get ready for bed." Kate told her daughter. Kathern nodded and picked up the Espeon and the Rattata and walked to her room. She placed them on her bed and started to get ready for bed. When Kathern went into the bathroom, Cinnamon snarled at the Shaymin-in-disguise.

"I know you're not a Rattata. Rattata smell like crap and sewers. You smell like flowers and meadows." Cinnamon growled. The Rattata clicked her teeth together.

"Just 'cause some Rattata smell like 'crap and sewers' doesn't mean that all Rattata do." she replied, doing her best to sound offended. Cinnamon stopped growling, but continued to scrunch up her nose at the Rattata.

Kathern walked back into the room with green pajamas on and climbed into bed, pulling the plush blue covers over her before she turned out her light. "Good night, Cinnamon. Good night, Rattata." the blonde said before closing her eyes and trying to get to sleep. Rattata climbed up and curled in a ball on the pillow unoccupied by Kathern.

"Good night, sweet Kathern." she mumbled before falling asleep.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Rattata woke up before Cinnamon and Kathern and transformed back into Shaymin. She then leapt onto Kathern's desk and pressed her paws against the window and it opened with a creak. "Hunh?" Kathern gasped, bolting up in her bed. Shaymin locked eyes with the human teenager, who had a very funny looking shocked expression. "R-Rattata?" she whispered. Shaymin nodded.

Kathern slid out of bed and pressed a finger against Shaymin's velvety green fur and gasped. She stumbled to the ground and pushed back until she had her back pressed against her door. "Please, don't tell anyone I was here. It will keep you and your family safe." Shaymin said, then she turned and leaped out of the window and disappeared into the night.

As the Shaymin disappeared from sight, the blonde teenager raced for the window and watched the Shaymin disappear. "Shaymin! Wait!" she called before grabbing her dress rope and tugging her slippers on. Kathern wrapped herself in her robe before running to the front door and racing across the front porch. Then she ran down the stairs and bolted to where she had seen the legendary disappear. "Shaymin! Wait! I can help you!" she called into the forest behind her house.

"Why would you want to help a legendary?" a voice inquired behind Kathern. She turned around and saw the little Shaymin sitting behind her.

"Because, I think the United Shadow needs to be stopped from killing the legendaries off completely." Kathern replied, getting to her knees so she could look the Shaymin evenly in the eyes.

Shaymin darted forward and tugged the sleeve of Kathern's robe up, and pressed her wet nose against Kathern's forearm. The blonde gasped as red-hot pain shot through her body. She collapsed as the pain crashed over her body in waves. Then, the waves weaken and then the pain was gone. Kathern got back onto her knees and looked at her arm, where the Shaymin had touched her arm.

A black flower outline stood out, and Kathern looked at the Shaymin. The Shaymin’s eyes had turned gold, and a green hue had surrounded its body. Then, it began to speak in an old, ancient voice. "I am Arceus. Mother of Life. You are a human, a future protector of the life I have created. My child has chosen you to protect her. Human child, you have now become a Legendary Signer, and your job is to protect and help all Legendaries, but mostly the legendary before you."

Kathern fainted as soon as Shaymin/Arceus was done talking.

Kathern groaned and sat up. She looked around and noticed that she was on her bed, and the blankets were nice and tidy. She yawned and looked at the alarm clock and gasped before racing out of her room and into the Kitchen. "Sweetheart, I'm glad you’re alright! We found you passed out outside with that cute little Rattata trying to keep you warm." Kate said as her daughter entered the room. Said Rattata chirped from her seat on the floor, nibbling at the poffins in her bowl.

"Thanks, mom." Kathern said as she sat down at the table and was instantly presented with a plate of French toast. Kathern nibbled at her breakfast and kept glancing at the Rattata who was currently sitting at the bottom of Kathern's chair. When the blonde finally finished, she got up and walked back to her room. She closed door behind her and walked into her bathroom.

Kathern stood in front of her mirror and tugged off her robe and let it fall off of her. She touched her left forearm and she gasped as a black flower outline appeared on her pale skin. "That's my mark." a voice said at Kathern's feet. The blonde looked down and saw the Shaymin from last night looking up at her. "The mark of the Shaymin Signer."

"So, that means last night really happened?" Kathern replied, clutching her forearm so hard that her light blue painted nails were digging in and drawing blood.

"Yes, it means that last night really happened." the Shaymin replied quietly, leaping onto Kathern's right shoulder. "I'm sorry, Kathern-Chan, but the mark will never go away, and you'll be a signer until you die."

Kathern straightened her back and narrowed her eyes in determination. "I said that I'd help you, so I will." she said. "But do you mind if you would turn into a Rattata whenever anyone's around?"

"Of course not!" Shaymin replied, transforming back into her Rattata form. Kathern hugged the Rattata to her chest and smiled.

"I'm getting my starter pokemon tomorrow, which means I'm starting out to earn all of Johto's badges." Kathern said. "As soon as I get my first badge, we'll start our journey to restore peace to the legendaries."

"Rattata!" The Rattata in Kathern's arms squeaked, smiling. Kathern sat the Rattata on the sink and walked back into her room to gather a long-sleeve shirt and jeans to wear. After she put them on, she brushed her hair and put some perfume on and then pulled some socks and shoes on.

After getting ready, Kathern carried Rattata to the front door and sat her down on the floor. "I'll be back later!" she called over her shoulder before walking out the door with Rattata at her heels.

It might be. I really don't have it planned out right now. I hope for it to have around 20 chapters, maybe more.

Here's chapter two! Sorry about nothing interesting happening in this chapter, other than the introduction of the main villianous team.

|:. Chapter Two .

"Did you find that tricky little Shaymin?" a man snarled from behind his desk. Two men stood in front of him, both wearing United Shadow Capturer outfits. The man was unusually tall with short navy blue hair. His eyes were a fiery dark blue, and at the moment they were glaring at the two United Shadow grunts in front of him.

A tall, beautiful and elegant woman walked into the room from the door behind the two grunts. She wasn't as tall as the blue haired man, but she was feared equally. She had short black hair with red highlights. Her chocolate brown eyes were glimmering with happiness, masking the evil women she really was. The woman was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with black leather fingerless gloves. Her jeans were snow-white with dots of red on it.

"Bryant, darling, what's with all the yelling?" the woman purred, sitting on the edge of the man's desk. The navy haired man softened when the black haired women addressed him.

"Well, it seems that these idiots lost the little Shaymin we were trying to capture." Bryant replied glaring harsher at the two grunts before him. The two grunts shrunk away from his intense gaze.
"Why don't we just let them off with a warning, and demote them to cage-cleaning duties." The woman purred in her seductive voice.

"Very well, miss Di Lina." Bryant muttered darkly. "You two are demoted to cage-cleaning duties until further instructions." he snapped at the two grunts. They nodded weakly before darting out of the dark room.

"Now, Bryant, I think we should send in a professional to take care of the Shaymin problem." the woman said, getting up off the desk and dropping her lovely tone she had. "I've found an assassin who worked for Lord Jetsu in the Drug Wars."

"Really? Shade, you sure do get around a lot." Bryant mused, smirking slightly. Shade smiled in her evil way.

"I work for the United Shadows, dear Bryant, so it's only natural that I have," she paused to smirk, "connections."

"Who is he?" Bryant asked, curious. Shade turned around so she had her back to Bryant and then she snapped her fingers and whistled. The door opened and in walked a tall, pale, short black haired man wearing a dark gray short sleeve and black jeans.

"Meet 'the Hunter'." the elegant woman purred. "Hunter, meet Bryant. Bryant, meet Hunter." she introduced, regaining her sugarcoated tone of earlier. Hunter grunted and Bryant nodded.

"Hunter, your objective is in these files." Shade continued, handing the assassin some manila folders with papers inside of them. "Your goal, and information on your target are in those. Please don't lose them."

"Yes, Ma'am Di Lina." Hunter replied, taking the folders and turning to walk out of the room. As soon as the man had shut the door, Shade turned to Bryant.

"Ma'am Di Lina? He is such a gentleman." she purred, smiling. Bryant rolled his eyes at her.

"Hopefully, he is successful. I'd hate to have to feed him to Ho-oh. She's getting so plump on signers it isn't funny." Bryant replied, tapping the Ho-oh Sign on his arm.

"Hopefully." Shade replied, closing her eyes. And when he does, we'll kill him anyway and take away his legendary.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Kathern walked along the path, enjoying the smells and sights of peaceful New Bark town. She spotted a white two story home and walked up to its front door and rang the doorbell. A tall, darker skinned woman answered and smiled. "Missy, Kathern's here!" the women called over her shoulder into the house.

Moments later, an energetic girl, with paler skin than her mother, exploded out the front door and hugged Kathern. "Kathy-kins! What's up!" she cheered, letting go of Kathern's shoulders.

"Just wanted to see if you wanted to hitch a ride for Violet City to catch a movie." Kathern replied. Missy looked at her mother, who nodded.

"Don't stay out too late!" she said, winking, before walking back inside. Kathern and Missy smirked, and that's when Missy noticed the Rattata at Kathern's feet.

"Hey, is that your Rattata?" Missy asked.

"No, it's just a Rattata who has decided to live with me and my family." Kathern replied. Rattata chirped and bounced up and down. Kathern picked up the pokemon and smiled at Missy.

"Let's get going!" the blonde said and her dark brown haired friend nodded. The two girls took off down the path.

Professor Elm wiped the blood from his face and stood up. He used his body to shield the precious pokemon who were cowering behind him. A mysterious man with black hair and green eyes was walking towards him.

"Tell me about this region's legendaries, old man!" he demanded. Elm violently shook his head.

"No dirty United Shadow is going to get any information out of me!" Elm replied. The black haired man growled and took another step towards Elm. The professor turned around and picked up the three Johto starters and ran to the back door.

The Johto Professor quickly opened the door and raced outside. Elm heard the man inside curse and then footsteps darted for the door he had just come out of. Professor Elm raced to the front of his lab/house and spotted two teenage girls walking by.

"Ladies! Ladies!" he called. The blonde and dark brown haired girls stopped and turned around to see the pokemon professor.

"Professor Elm!" they said in unison, rushing over. Elm noticed that the blonde girl had a strange little Rattata following them.

"My, aren't you little Kathern Lee?" Elm inquired. The blonde girl nodded. "And you're Missy Lamkin, I remember you." he said to the brunette.

"Yep! Croconaw is doing great by the way!" Missy replied.

"But, anyway, you two mind helping me? A mysterious man is after me." Professor Elm mused. Kathern and Missy gasped as the mentioned man walked into view. "Kathern, grab a pokemon!" Elm said hurriedly. Kathern grabbed Cyndaquil and Missy sent out her Croconaw.

The man smiled before sending out a Houndour and Poochyena. Kathern was smiling. My first pokemon battle! She thought happily to herself. Rattata barked from her place at Kathern's feet, pressing herself against Kathern's leg. The poor thing was shaking in fear, her eyes were huge.

"Poochyena and Houndour, use bite on Croconaw!" The man commanded. Missy and Kathern growled.
"Cyndaquil use Ember on Poochyena!" Kathern commanded.

"Croconaw, use Water Gun on Houndour!" Missy said.

Poochyena and Houndour neatly dodged Cyndaquil's Ember attack, but Houndour was hit by Croconaw's Water Gun and fainted. Poochyena landed his Bite attack neatly on Croconaw's snout. Missy cried out and Kathern held her back. Poochyena jumped back to the man's side, panting lightly.
The man sent out an Absol. "Absol, Poochyena, use Bite on Croconaw!" the man commanded again.

"Croconaw, dodge and use Water gun!" Missy called to her water-type.

"Cyndaquil, smokescreen on Absol and Poochyena!" Kathern commanded.

Croconaw neatly dodged the two dark types's attacks and used Water Gun on them. Cyndaquil then used smokescreen and the two dark types disappeared into a ball of smoke. Croconaw blew Water Gun into the smoke and Cyndaquil used Ember into the smoke. Thinking they had won, the two pokemon sat down, waiting for the smoke to clear.

As the smoke cleared, the man's Absol leapt up into the air and landed next to her trainer. The mysterious man snarled and called back his Poochyena. "Until we meet again, professor." the black haired man said before getting onto his Absol's back. The dark-type then raced into the forest and disappeared from sight.

Professor Elm sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Some people." he mumbled. Then the professor turned to Missy and Kathern. "Well done, girls!" he said, smiling. Cyndaquil and Croconaw gave each other a smile.

"And to think, during this short period of time, you've managed to gain the trust of a very finicky pokemon." Elm said to Kathern. "If you'd please step into my lab for a second." He said before picking up his Totodile and Chikorita and walking into his lab. Kathern and Missy looked at each other and shrugged, following the professor into his lab.

Once inside of Professor Elm's lab, Kathern and Missy were told to sit down at the table in the snack area. Elm picked up the Cyndaquil that Kathern had used to battle the mysterious man with and placed her on the table. "I know that you were supposed to come and get your starter tomorrow, but how about signing up a little bit earlier." Elm offered.

"Sure!" Kathern said, smiling. Professor Elm nodded before disappearing into his lab to look for something. "Holy Arceus! I'm finally getting my starter pokemon!" Kathern squealed.

"I know!" Missy replied, hugging her best friend. Then Elm returned with a couple of items in his arms. He sat the items down on the table before looking at Kathern.

"Alright, you're already signed up with the Johto League, so all that's left is your supplies." Elm told her. Kathern nodded happily. Elm pointed to the pokedex. "The main goal of a trainer is to fill a pokedex. That's what your new goal is starting today." he pointed to a lavender bottle. "This is called a potion. It heals wounds that have been inflicted on your pokemon. There are also Super Potions and Hyper Potions." he next pointed to several different looking pokeballs. "These are pokeballs, and there are many different kinds of pokeballs."

Professor Elm handed the pokedex, potions, and pokeballs to Kathern before pointing to the last gadget. "This is called a Pokegear. Your Town Map, Phone Numbers, and Radio Stations are all registered on it." he said. "Kathern, hold out your wrist."

Kathern followed the Professor's instructions and held out her wrist. Professor Elm snapped the Pokegear onto her wrist and she pulled it back. "Now get going, kiddo, there's a lot of pokemon that are waiting for you!" he said to her. Kathern nodded and allowed Missy to lead her out of New Bark Town lab.

Shade tapped her fingers on her desk as she listened to the Hunter's report. Bryant was scowling beside her. When the Hunter's message ended, Bryant looked at Shade expectantly. "He failed to get the information out of Elm!" he snapped at her. Shade snarled at him.

"I know what I'm doing, Bryant Shadow! He's worth more than all of these useless grunts put together!" she snapped at her partner. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door and Bryant shouted for the person to come in.

The United Shadow deputies walked into the room. The male deputy was tall with short ginger hair and icy blue eyes. The female deputy was a head shorter than her male counterpart, and she had long dark ginger hair. She had one gray eye and an eye patch over the other eye.

"Koigokoro. Eiyuu." Shade addressed them. They nodded. Koigokoro spoke first.

"We've captured two more Signers." he reported to them. Shade smiled.

"Good work." she purred happily.

"Thank you, Miss Di Lina." Eiyuu replied. The two grunts then turned around and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind them.

"They really do scare me." The black haired woman stated to Bryant. The Navy blue haired man nodded in agreement.

"But they are really good deputies." he replied. Shade walked over to the covered window and let the blind up. Sunlight flooded into the room, making Bryant flinch.

"Soon, we will have all of the legendaries in this forsaken world!" Shade cheered, gazing outside. "Then, we'll use them to obtain Arceus!"

#1: They aren't killing the legendaries, they're killing the signers of the legendaries.
#2: They keep the captured Legendaries in cages because they're going to use them to obtain Arceus.
#3: Yes, Bryant has Ho-oh eat the signers after they're dead.

|:. Chapter Three .

"Stop struggling, it will only make things worse." Bryant snickered. The two signers that had just been captured were two girls with genetically the same legendaries. The girl with long black hair and gray eyes was the Latias Signer, and the girl with long auburn hair with bright neon pink bangs and topaz eyes was the Latios Signer.

"We'll never tell you where they are!" the two girls said in unison, narrowing their eyes at the navy blue haired man. Bryant snickered at the persistence of the Eon Twins’ signers. The male leader of the United Shadows stopped forward and pulled up his left sleeve, revealing a black outline of a burning tower.

"Do you know what sign this is?" he snarled at the two girls. They shrugged. "It's the mark of Ho-oh, the bird of the sun. I could snap my fingers and Ho-oh could come down here and eat you both, and then we'd capture your precious Eon Twins."

"Oh, joy. I always wanted to be eaten by a legendary." the auburn haired girl retorted sarcastically. The black haired girl who was tied up in ropes beside the auburn haired girl emitted a giggle. Bryant growled walked towards the auburn haired girl until he was standing in front of her.

"Maybe you should say that in front of Ho-oh, she enjoys a good laugh." he snarled. The auburn haired girl with neon pink bangs smiled humorlessly at the United Shadow leader. She was about to speak again when the black hair girl beside her grunted and shook her head. "Now, why don't you tell us your names?" Bryant asked, pulling a knife out of his boot.

"Yes, why don't you?" a voice asked from the shadows behind Bryant. The familiar United Shadow female leader slid out of the shadows and clicked her fingers. "Oyxs." a faraway sounding voice groaned. The two captured signers gasped as the pokemon loomed into view. "Girls, meet Deoxys." Shade purred as the DNA pokemon came to float beside her.

"How the heck did you get a Deoxys?" the raven haired girl asked in disbelief. Shade smiled and pulled off the glove on her right hand and held it out to the girls. On it was a black outline of a meteorite. Once she knew the girls had seen it, Shade pulled her glove back on and smiled at them.

"I'm a signer, like you two and Bryant." Shade purred in her sickeningly sweet voice. Then she turned sharply on her heels and snapped her fingers. "Koigokoro! Eiyuu!" she barked.

The two United Shadow deputies walked in the room and stopped before Shade. "Miss Di Lina. Sir Shadow." they said together in monotonous voices. The auburn haired girl shuddered next to the raven haired girl.

"They're creepy." she whispered. The raven haired girl nodded her agreement.

"Koigokoro, boot up 'theTrap'." Shade told the taller, ginger haired man. He nodded and started to walk towards the computers on the other side of the dark room.

"Hey, lady!" The raven haired girl barked at Shade. "What's up with all your rooms being painted black?"

"They're painted black," Shade paused to smirk in her evil way, "so no-one sees the blood on the walls. Ho-oh is a very messy eater." she finished. The auburn haired girl and the raven haired girl shuddered.

"You're sick!" The auburn haired girl barked at Shade.

"No, you're mistaken." Shade replied, walking up to the two signers who were bound by rope. "My name is Shade Di Lina, the future Shade Di Lina Shadow." she whispered the last part so Bryant didn't hear it. "Now, tell us your names."

"Why the hell should we?" the girl with the neon pink bangs retorted. Shade growled and walked over to Bryant. She took the navy blue haired man's knife and walked back over the two girls.

"You will tell us, or I will personally make sure you die an especially painful death." Shade replied, holding the knife up so that the light glittered off of it, revealing dried blood still on the blade. The two signers gulped. "Now, will you tell us your names?" she asked.

The two girls nodded, eyes locked on the knife. "Good. Pink bangs, you first." Shade barked.

"Gabrielle Mauch." the auburn haired girl with neon pink bangs and topaz colored eyes replied. Shade smiled before looking at the raven haired girl.

"Your turn, sweetie." the United Shadow's female leader purred, tapping the blade lightly on the gray-eyed girl's nose.

"G-glycerine Darkclove." the girl replied. Shade smiled. She straightened up and handed the knife back to Bryant.

"Thank you, Glycerine and Gabrielle. Oooh, they both start with G, don't they?" the black haired woman with red highlights mocked, smirking. "The two little Eon Twin signers!"

"I'm scared." Glycerine whimpered.

"It's going to be alright." Gabrielle replied reassuringly.

"I hope you're right." The gray-eyed girl whispered and closed her eyes. Arceus, help us!

Kathern held her female Cyndaquil close to her as she walked down the forest path that led to Violet City. Shaymin followed in her regular form. The sun shone brightly against the pale blue sky, with no clouds in sight. Kathern was humming to herself in a cheery tune.

A Pidgey darted out of a nearby bush and Shaymin instantly darted forward and used Spore on it. "Shaymin, why can't you let Cyndaquil battle for once?" Kathern barked. Shaymin smiled.

"Because it’s my job to protect you!" she replied. Cyndaquil barked at the grass-type and blasted Ember at her. "HEY!" Shaymin screeched, narrowly avoiding the attack. Kathern giggled as Cyndaquil kept blasting Ember at the legendary and Shaymin kept dodging. The Pidgey woke up and even started squawking in laughter.

"Cyndaquil, use Ember on Pidgey!" Kathern commanded and the Cyndaquil leapt out of her trainers arms onto Shaymin's back and then in front of the Pidgey. "Quil!" the fire-type shouted, blasting fire at the Pidgey. "Pid, Pidgey! Gey, pid!" it squawked, flapping its wings as it was hit in the face with the fire-type attack. "Go, pokeball!" Kathern shouted, throwing one of the five pokeballs Professor Elm had given to her.

The capture was successful and Kathern jumped up and down in glee. "My second pokemon! My second pokemon!" she shouted happily. Shaymin and Cyndaquil smiled happily before Cyndaquil blasted another Ember at Shaymin. The grass-type squealed as the fire hit her in the back. She growled and tackled Cyndaquil.

"Shaymin! Cyndaquil! Knock it off!" Kathern demanded. Shaymin jumped away from Cyndaquil and then she started glowing. Her eyes were blue and a green hue surrounded her body.

"Two more signers have been taken by the United Shadows. Help requested by all Legendaries at once!" a male voice rang out from Shaymin. Then the grass-type legendary's eyes returned to the normal light green and the hue disappeared. "Kathern, we have to go to Hoenn!" the little pokemon barked, leaping onto Kathern's shoulders. Kathern called Cyndaquil back into her pokeball.

"Get ready! I'm about to teleport us to Hoenn! It might feel a little strange!" Shaymin warned. Kathern nodded nervously and screwed her eyes shut. The wind started to whip around Kathern and Shaymin. Then, the blonde started to feel lightheaded, and her feet left the ground.
Then, Kathern fainted.

"Hey, hey! Wake up, miss!" a voice called. Kathern groaned and sat up. She opened her eyes and saw a girl with light brown hair tied up in a ponytail on top of her head, and her bangs were long and messy. She had bright blue eyes, and she was wearing a white spaghetti strap tank top with a denim jacket over it. The girl was also wearing a denim skirt. Then Kathern noticed she was wearing a headband with a flower attached to it.

"She okay?" a boy asked, walking over and then kneeling next to the girl. The boy had spiky brown hair and blue eyes. He had a silverish trench coat over a gold t-shirt and was wearing jeans.

"Yep!" the girl replied. "Hi there! I'm Matsuri Kururugi, and this is my twin brother, Kurogasa Kururugi. Who're you?"

"Kathern Lee." Kathern replied. Matsuri and Kurogasa smiled. "What happened?" the blonde asked them.

"Your legendary said you fainted on the way here. No-one blames you, though. Being teleported for the first time is hard." Kurogasa explained. Kathern's hand went to her hip and was relieved that her bag was still there.

"Wait, you know about Shaymin?" Kathern gasped. Matsuri giggled.

"Calm down, silly. We're all Legendary Signers. Latias and Latios called us here to help get their signers back." the brunette told her. Kathern sighed in relief and suddenly, Shaymin had bounced onto her lap and was looking up at her.

"Kathern! You me worried sick!" the legendary scolded. Kathern laughed, before spotting a pink blur zooming towards them. The blur landed neatly on Matsuri's shoulder.

"Latios and Latias are ready to begin, now!" the Mew reported.

"Already?" Matsuri asked. The Mew nodded and floated up into the air again. Kathern got to her feet with the help of Matsuri and the three signers and two legendaries started off for where the Eon Twins were floating and addressing the gather signers and legendaries.

Bryant stood on the balcony and was currently petting his Ho-oh on the head. "Soon, you'll have another feast, my dear sun goddess." he purred, rubbing under the bird's chin. The Ho-oh purred as her signer rubbed her sweet spot.

"Sir Shadow." came the monotonous voice of Eiyuu. Bryant turned around to see the short female deputy standing at the entrance to the balcony.

"Yes, deputy Eiyuu?" Bryant replied. The dark ginger haired woman gestured into the building.

"Miss Di Lina requests your company." she replied. Bryant nodded and gave his beloved pet one more pet before heading inside.

Following Eiyuu, Bryant was led to the room that currently held the two Eon twin signers. Eiyuu let Bryant step in first before following him and shutting the door behind her. Shade and Koigokoro were already in the room, along with several Capturers and Guards. Koigokoro nodded to Bryant and the United Shadow grunts did the same.

"My dear Bryant." Shade purred, stepping up to the navy haired man. "Deoxys has, intercepted a message from the Eon legendaries."

"It did?" Bryant replied in disbelief. Shade smiled and snapped her fingers. Deoxys appeared beside Shade.

"Darling, would you repeat what you intercepted earlier?" The raven haired woman with red highlights asked. "Deox. Xys." the legendary grunted. It started glowing red. "Two more Signers have been taken by the United Shadows. Help requested by all legendaries at once!" the DNA pokemon repeated in a weird, otherworldly voice.

"Hmm, so the Eon twins could tell we had their signers, even when they weren't around to see the two girls get kidnapped." Bryant muttered, rubbing his chin.

"Signers and their legendaries are connected by a bond, and the bond is connected by placing the legendary's mark on the signer's body." Koigokoro reported.

"That would explain it." Shade purred. "So that means, if we inflict pain on the legendary's signer, the legendary will feel it, also?" she mumbled.

"Yes. That's exactly what would take place." Eiyuu replied. Shade smiled and looked at the two signers.

"Well, now. Isn't that, interesting." she hissed, a pure smile spread across her face. "That might just come in handy."

Gabrielle and Glycerine shuddered at the evil woman's words.

Here's chapter four and chapter five.

|:. Chapter Four .

Latias and Latios hovered in the air after they were done telling of what had happened to their two signers. Quiet murmuring broke out among the Legendaries and the Signers. Then, a sudden hush fell over them as they looked at the Eon Twins.

"The main reason you were brought here, is so that we could get some help with saving our signers." Latias told them. Then, one of the golems stepped forward. It was different from the others, because its signer wasn't with her.

"My signer is already on her way to save them, Latias." the golem stated. "So you do not need to worry." The eon twins looked at one another and they slowly nodded.

"Alright, we trust you." they said in unison. The other legendaries murmured their agreement. Kathern hugged Shaymin to her chest.

"Is it over?" she asked the grass-type legendary. Her legendary nodded. Kathern then turned to Matsuri and Kurogasa. "Good-bye, guys! I'm going back to Johto." she told them.

"Really? That's where we're headed, too! Maybe we could go together." Matsuri replied, smiling. Kathern smiled back.

"That'd be great!" she replied. Shaymin squeaked and squirmed out of her trainer's arms and leapt onto Matsuri's shoulder.

"You hear that, Mew! We're going to be travelling buddies again!" she exclaimed. Mew chirped happily and flew down to her signer's head and sniffed Shaymin.

"We'd better get going." Kathern said. Matsuri and Kurogasa nodded. Shaymin leapt back into her Signer's arms and turned to look at the other two signers.

"Me and Mew will transfer all of you to Johto at once!" the legendary informed them. "Hold hands and close your eyes! Try not to faint!" Kathern snarled at her and the Shaymin smiled back at her. The three signers joined hands and both of the legendaries started to hum before Kathern felt the familiar feeling of her feet leaving the ground.

Kathern felt light headed and was struggling to keep from fainting again. She then felt her feet touch solid ground and opened her eyes to see that Shaymin and Mew had teleported them back to where Kathern had been before Shaymin had received the message from the eon twins. The blonde let go of Kurogasa and Matsuri's hands and staggered backwards, still feeling light headed.

The trainer shook her head and successfully got rid of some of the light headedness. Shaymin bounced into her Signer's arms and squeaked happily. "Kathern-Chan didn't fall asleep this time!" she cheered joyously. Kathern growled weakly at her.

"It's good to be home!" Matsuri said hugging her Mew. The pink fur ball chirped and looked around.

"We better get going to Cherrygrove City. It's getting dark out." Kurogasa pointed out. Sure enough, the sun was sinking down towards the horizon. Shaymin yawned and fell asleep in her trainer's arms, and Mew also fell asleep.

"You're right." Matsuri agreed. The three signers then started off to Cherrygrove City.

Glycerine yawned as she blinked open her eyes. It was the morning after she had heard Deoxys speak the message sent to all of the Signers from Latias and Latios. She lowered her eyes. It was her fault that she and Gabrielle were in here, being held captive by two crazies.

The raven haired girl was about to nod off again when a pebble hit her on the forehead. Glycerine groaned and reopened her eyes. A few feet away from her, a girl wearing a black long-sleeve and black pants was crouched down. She had beautiful emerald green eyes and her long, golden hair flowed over her shoulders and onto the ground.

"Who are you?" Glycerine asked in a whispered. The girl held a finger to her lips before drawing out a sheathed knife from her pant pocket. She unsheathed it and began working on the rope that bound Glycerine and Gabrielle.

All of the movement woke Gabrielle, who looked at the girl whom was working at her ropes. The auburn haired girl looked at Glycerine, who was free of the ropes, and the black haired girl held a finger to her lips to tell Gabrielle to be quiet. When the Signer was free, the blonde haired girl helped them to their feet.

"Follow me." she whispered and walked to the door and looked at the hallway on either side before motioning for the two Signers to follow. They did so. Soon, they were near the entrance of the United Shadow building. The blonde motioned for them to stay still and quiet. When her message got to the Eon Twin Signers, the girl slunk over to a canister that hung on the wall directly across the room from the entrance.

The girl grabbed the canister and then ran to the entrance, the two signers followed after her. Glycerine whistled as soon as she was outside and Gabrielle followed suit. Two orbs appeared in the sky, and they zoomed towards the three girls, whom were still running away from the building. Latias and Latios stopped in front of them.

"Thank Arceus you're alright!" Latias exclaimed, hugging Glycerine. The raven haired girl smiled and patted Latias on the head. She then climbed onto her back and helped the blonde haired girl on behind her. Gabrielle then got onto Latios's back. The two Eon legendaries zoomed into the air as soon as the Signers were safely on their backs.

Shade hummed to herself as she and Deoxys made their way to the room where the two signers were held. She opened the door and gaped at what she saw. The Eon Twin Signers were gone, and the ropes were thrown all over the floor. Shade took two deep breaths before turning on her heel. "KOIGOKORO! EIYUU! BRYANT!" she screamed.

Moments later, the familiar navy blue haired man walked into Shade's view, followed by the two deputies. Shade took a couple more deep breaths before the three reached her. "What's the matter, Miss Di Lina?" Eiyuu asked her female commander. Shade pointed to the inside of the room and the three looked in.

"How could they escape!" Shade howled at them. "Don't answer that. Koigokoro, I want you to check the surveillance videos for a picture of them. Eiyuu, alert the other grunts to be on the lookout." she snapped. The two ginger haired deputies nodded and rushed off.

"I'd love to help, but there's business with a new grunt and you have to get in touch with Hunter." Bryant told Shade before walking off. Shade growled before stalking off to her office.

The short black haired woman with red highlights sat down in her plush office chair and pressed the button on the answering machine. Hunter's icy voice then started to speak.

"The Hunter reporting back to headquarters. Current location is Violet City. Extracted two very old books from library. Both cover the legends surrounding the birth of the Legendary Signers. Text is handwritten, and may take awhile to decipher. The Hunter, out."

Shade smiled, they had finally gotten a hold of something useful. She patted her Deoxys on the head and smiled. "Soon, our years of preparation will pay off." she purred to him.

Kathern held Cyndaquil in her arms as Shaymin(in Rattata form) followed at her feet. Kathern's Pidgey flew above them, chirping happily. Matsuri walked beside Kathern, and held her Buneary in her arms. Mew had chosen to transform into a Houndour and walked at her Signer's heels. "Kurogasa said he'll meet us at Violet City." Matsuri told the blonde trainer walking next to her.

"Good." Kathern replied. "Hey, Matsuri? Could you tell me about Gym battles?"

"Sure, I've seen my brother battle tons of times!" the girl replied. "You have all the pokemon in your party try and defeat the gym leader. You can use items such as revives and potions during battle, and the challenger has the option of switching out. You and the gym leader battle until one of the teams have all fainted."

"Wow, it sounds difficult." Kathern replied, hugging Cyndaquil tighter.

"It’s supposed to be a challenge for both pokemon and trainer." Matsuri replied. "You should train every time you get. The more you battle, the tougher your pokemon get. But don't worry. The gym leader always uses pokemon that are in the challenger's level range."

"That's good! Cyndaquil wouldn't stand a chance against a Lv. 100 fearow." Kathern replied, and Cyndaquil squeaked in agreement. Matsuri suddenly had an idea and dug into her bag. She then held out something that resembled a pokemon collar.

"Here! This is an experience share, or Exp. Share." the brunette explained. "When given to a pokemon, it doesn't have to be in battle to gain Exp. Points." Kathern smiled and took the Exp. Share and placed it around her Pidgey's neck.

"Thanks!" she replied to Matsuri, smiling gratefully. Pidgey started to squawk so Kathern looked up at her. Then she looked behind them and spotted two blurs racing towards them. Before she could warn Matsuri, the orbs rammed into the two girls and their pokemon. Kathern flew backward and landed a couple feet away.

Kathern sat up and shook the dirt out of her hair. The blonde looked around and then she spotted the Eon Twins, who were floating in the air a few feet away, holding their heads. "Ugh, what happened?" a girl asked, sitting up and holding her head. She had long auburn hair with neon pink bangs that hung in her face.

"My mistake, I didn't see those two other signers before we rammed into them." Latias giggled.

"Real funny." another girl barked. She had pitched black hair and bright gray eyes. She was wearing ripped jeans and a gray short-sleeve with a picture of a Mightyena howling at the moon on the front. The auburn haired girl was wearing dark wash skinny jeans, and a slightly torn purple jacket over a white wife beater.

"Is everyone OK?" a third girl asked, standing up. She was wearing a black long sleeve and black pants along with black shoes. She had bright green eyes and waist long golden hair. Her skin was pale, except for the deep scar that stretched along her forehead and down to her left cheek.

Kathern got to her feet and made her way over to Matsuri and helped the girl to her feet. "I feel like a train rammed into me." the girl groaned.

"We did, kind of. We got rammed by Latios and Latias along with three Signers." Kathern replied. Matsuri blinked and looked at the Eon Legendaries and the three girls, who were now on their feet.

"If they're signers, we should be polite and introduce ourselves." she told Kathern. The blonde nodded and the two walked over to the signers. "Hello, there!" Matsuri greeted them.

"Hiya!" the black haired girl replied, giving Matsuri a bear hug. She left the Mew Signer trying to catch her breath. "I'm Glycerine Darkclove. You can call me Gly, though!"

"Nice to meet you, Gly." Kathern greeted holding out her hand and Gly shook it. "I'm Kathern Lee." Gly smiled.

"I'm Matsuri Kururugi." Matsuri introduced herself. The blonde haired girl smiled and shook her hand.

"I'm Carmen Prescott." she replied, smiling pleasantly.

"Nice to meet you, Carmen." the brunette greeted. Gly wrapped an arm around the auburn haired girl's shoulder and smirked.

"This is Gabrielle Mauch! But she likes to be called Brielle."

After talking a little bit, the five decided to head to Violet City together. Latias and Latios darted off soon after.

"- In the beginning, Arceus created life on Earth. She had the ultimate power, in which she created powerful creatures known today as 'Legendaries'. Then she created the lesser species of 'Pokemon'. Lastly came the 'Humans', which were made with the sole purpose of taking care of the Pokemon. Arceus slept after the creation of our world. After many years of the humans abusing the pokemon, Arceus gave the Legendaries the order to make a human their Signer, so that they'd be protected. That's how the Legendary Signers came to be. -"

The boy looked up at the beasts fighting above him. The Legendary pokemon Ho-oh was fighting with the legendary pokemon Lugia in the sky above the town of Olivine. Bystanders all looked to the sky, some were even recording this moment. The boy leaned even further over the railing of the Olivine City Lighthouse. He was closer than any of the dots below him, yet he showed no fear.

The boy had short dark blue hair the color of the night sky, his diamond blue eyes shone with excitement and curiosity. He was wearing a denim jacket way too big for him, being as the boy was only around 13 years of age. His denim pants were also slightly big on him, being held in place by a belt. Beside the boy stood a proud looking female Swellow.

Ho-oh and Lugia were locked in combat. No-one knew why the two legendaries had suddenly become enraged at one another, as most legendaries were considered peaceful. Before the blue haired boy could dwell on this, though, a girl dropped onto the Lighthouse next to him. She was slightly shorter than the boy, and she had waist-length dark brown hair with white highlights. Her light green eyes were shining as she looked at the blue haired boy.

"Hello, Bryant." she greeted pleasantly. The blue-haired boy smiled at her.

"Hello, Maria." he replied. Beside Maria, a graceful Altaria landed. Swellow and Altaria greeted each other before turning back to their trainers. Bryant and Maria, Swellow and Altaria, were all watching the sky battle unfold. Suddenly, without warning, the combat locked legendaries came crashing down towards the Lighthouse. Maria screamed and grabbed onto Bryant's jacket in fear as the birds collided with the Lighthouse.

Bryant dazedly opened his eyes and sat up, aware of his Swellow sleeping next to him with her wing covering his dirty and bruised body. He brushed her wing off of him gently and sat up, waking his pokemon up in the process. Swellow leapt to her feet and began to chirp happily. Bryant looked around and noticed that he was on the ground, and that the entire side that he had been watching the battle earlier from was completely destroyed.

The blue haired boy leapt to his feet and raced over to the building, hastily looking around for any signs of Maria. He stopped when he spotted the remains of Altaria and fell to his knees, tears spilling from his eyes. A few feet away from Altaria, was the body of Maria. Bryant got to his feet and whipped away the mud and tears from his face before turning back to his Swellow.

Bryant stopped dead in his tracks as he saw what was sitting behind his pokemon. The Legendary pokemon Ho-oh was staring intently at him, obviously interested. Swellow hopped over to her trainer and nudged his arm. The blue haired boy restlessly took a step back, preparing to run.

"I am not interested in hurting you, little boy." Ho-oh spoke, grinning slightly. Bryant gasped as the Legendary spoke to him. The bird of rainbows leaned forward and touched her beak to his bare left arm. A searing wave of pain broke over the boy and he promptly fainted from it.

Tapping his fingers on his desk, Bryant sat thinking things over. Under a week ago, they'd lost two signers and the key to a third. Well, at least they still had a few Signers left, including the Jirachi signer. It had been longer since they had failed to catch Shaymin and hired Hunter. Bryant smiled, Hunter had provided a wealth of information on the legend of the Signers, including the book sitting on the desk in front of the United Shadow male leader.

There was a knock on Bryant's door and he called for whomever it was to come in. The door swung open and in stepped a woman with short black hair with dark red highlights. Her brown eyes were sparkling with familiar mischief. She sat down on the edge of Bryant's desk and smiled at him. "What's the matter, Shade?" he asked his beautiful partner-in-crime. Shade Di Lina smiled at him.

"Hunter sent in some more news about that book he found on the Legend of the Signers." Shade replied, holding out a piece of paper to Bryant. The blue haired man reached out and took the paper. He adjusted his desk lamp and began to read the words written down on the paper. When he was finished reading it, he looking up at the still smiling Shade.

"This could come in handy." Bryant mumbled. The black and red haired woman nodded and stood up.

"I told you that Hunter would come in handy." she purred before walking out of the room. Bryant starred after her and smiled, she could be nice when she wanted to.

Kathern stretched, hugging her Cyndaquil to her chest. Shaymin ran ahead of them, as there weren’t any trainers around. At her heels was her female Pidgey. The blonde headed trainer was currently looking for an electric or rock type to help her with her battle with Falkner. Shaymin squealed from up ahead and Kathern raced forward to see what was happening. When she arrived, though, Shaymin had a little yellow pokemon cornered. Kathern pulled out her pokedex to check the little Pokémon’s information.

"Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokemon." it read. It also said that this Pichu was a female. Kathern put it back in her pocket and walked over to the Pichu. "Shaymin, lay off of her!" she commanded firmly. The legendary leapt backwards, still bristling. "C'mon, Cyndaquil, let's capture us a Pichu!" Kathern said, releasing her fire-type.

"CHUU!" the Pichu shrieked, charging an attack. She then darted forward and slammed into Cyndaquil with a Thundershock attack. Cyndaquil flew backwards, but got up. Kathern got her Pokedex out again and checked Pichu's attacks.

"Thundershock, Charm, and Tail Whip." she mumbled, closing it again and shoving it back into her pocket. "Cyndaquil, use Ember!" she commanded to her fire-type. Cyndaquil squealed and dashed forward to latch onto Pichu. The electric-type shrieked as Cyndaquil blasted her with Ember. While the fire-type launched her attack, Pichu had readied hers. As soon as Cyndaquil detached from the tiny mouse, a Thundershock attack flung her backwards again.

"Cyndaquil!" Kathern called, grabbing a potion and using it on her pokemon. Cyndaquil leapt onto her feet again and blasted another Ember attack in the Pichu's face, making it shriek again. "Atta girl, Cyndaquil!" Kathern cheered as the Pichu stumbled from the last attack. Kathern grabbed a pokeball from her bag and threw it at the Pichu. The ball rolled three times and then clicked shut.

Kathern walked over to the place where the pokeball rested and leaned over to pick it up, shoving it into her bag. She picked up Cyndaquil and put Pidgey on her shoulder before starting back for Violet City. Shaymin walked at her heels this time, still shaken by the sudden encounter of Pichu. Shaymin's blonde headed signer sighed and looked down at her.

"What's the matter, afraid of a little Pichu?" she questioned. Shaymin snarled up at her and Kathern shut her mouth immediately.

Upon reaching Violet City, the sun was already setting. Kathern hurried towards the Pokemon Center. She walked inside and then up to the front counter. She handed her team of three over, which confused the Nurse Joy since Kathern had four pokemon. Shaymin had turned back into a Rattata, and refused to let anyone touch her. After her pokemon were healed, Kathern put the pokeballs in her bag and started off for the cafeteria.

Kathern got a hamburger, fries, an apple, and a baggie of carrots. She sat and ate her food, making sure she had a good view of the TV. They were talking about the disasters currently plaguing the four regions. Shinnoh had it the worst, with mostly earthquakes around Mt Coronet. They were now talking with a trainer from Shinnoh.

"Ma'am, what did you say your name was?" the interviewer woman asked. The trainer, a 12 year-old girl with long black hair and blue eyes, looked innocently into the camera.

"Opal Winstone." the 12 year-old replied. The interviewer smiled at her.

"Ms. Winstone, what exactly happened today at your home in Hearthome City?" the interviewer asked.

"Well, I was out walking with my Cherrim, Honey, when I heard a rumbling noise. We were out towards Mt. Coronet, because my mama's Glameow ran away in that direction. Me and Honey were real scared as the rumbling got louder and we hid in a hollowed out tree trunk. Rocks started falling off of Mt Coronet and then a rock fall happened! I was real scared..." the girl trailed off, obviously shaken from the disaster.

Kathern gulped her drink down before rising to go and dump her tray. She then headed for her room. When she reached it, she noticed there was light coming out through the bottom. Kathern unlocked her door and walked cautiously into the room, Rattata was bristling against Kathern's leg. The blonde haired trainer stepped carefully into the room and spotted a man and a woman wearing clothes similar clothing to that of the United Shadows seen around the regions.

"What the hell are you doing in my room!" Kathern demanded. The grunts whipped around to see who had addressed them. The female grunt darted forward and snatched Kathern's left arm and yanked her sleeve up, touching the flower outline on her arm.

"She's one of them." the woman said to the man. The man nodded and darted for Rattata. Kathern lashed out with her leg and caught the man in the jaw. He staggered back as Kathern screamed at the top of her lungs.

Tom held his grumbling stomach as he walked down the hallway. He combed a hand through his short, spiky brown hair. He was starting to regret staying out late training his pokemon. At his feet was his partner, Espeon. As he was about to walk down the stairs he heard a scream. He turned around and ran down the hall when he spotted a slightly ajar down. Tom walked into the room and saw two United Shadows attacking a girl and her Rattata.

"Hey, leave her alone!" he shouted at them. The grunts let go of the girl and hurried to the open window, leaping out of it. Tom looked over at the girl and smiled at her. She was tall, had waist length blonde hair, and emerald green eyes. "You alright?" he asked. The girl nodded.

"Thanks." she said holding out her hand. Tom took it and shook her hand. "By the way, my name's Kathern. What's yours?"

"Tom." the brunette replied. Espeon was sniffing at the little Rattata by Kathern's feet. The pokemon looked ready to attack, so Tom picked his Espeon up to stop her from further agitating the normal-type. "Why were those people attacking you?" he questioned Kathern. He noticed that she reached for her arm. The trainer took this as a sign that she was hurt and grabbed her wrist. He examined her left forearm and gasped. A black outline of a Gracida flower stood out promptly against her pale skin.

Kathern yanked her arm free and pulled her left sleeve down. "I-it's just a tattoo." she told him hurriedly. Tom recovered from his shock and looked at her, smiling.

"You're a Signer, that's why they were after you." he said. Then he pulled up his right sleeve and showed Kathern the black outline of an erupting mountain.

"I'm a Signer, too."
